RemotePC2 is a well-known free applications written in j2me by a Turkish developer Mr.Yenel Yildirim in his studentship. Jad and jar client files of the application was downloadable through GetJar.com but unfortunately, the server-side (computer-side) script was inaccessible because developer's personal download site was expired and domain holder changed. When i was trying to contact with him for asking the server-side script, i found it by chance on the internet and i put it here. You have to download jad&jar pair from Getjar because download count continue there still. I didn't make any change on the script, the core files and the help files are completely works of Mr.Yenel Yildirim. This is only a download service. I think this is a GPU/GNL licenced software but you can contact me if you think or know that itsn't. Enjoy it.
"Remote PC" is a system that you can control your computer (PC) over GPRS and Bluetooth from your mobile phone! This sytem contains two programs. Server and Client.
Server -> RemotePCServer.exe -> This program runs on your computer and handles the requests of client. Client -> RemotePC2.jad and RemotePC2.jar -> This program runs on mobile phone and sends the requests of user to the computer. Your mobile phone should support Java (J2ME) in order to run the client.
Properties of RemotePC
- Desktop view of computer on mobile phone. 8 level zoom option. - Chat between mobile phone and computer. You can show and hid chat window. - You can shut down or restart your computer from mobile phone. - Logging of servers' IP on a web server for client periodically. - Connection can be done over GPRS (internet!) - Connection can be done over Bluetooth (10m-100m range depends on your bluetooth dongle and phone. Phone should support JSR-82 javax.bluetooth API.) IMPORTANT NOTE: You should add serial port (A com port Ex: COM6) for communication from your bluetooh driver software. WIDCOMM or WinXP bluetooth driver or whatever driver you use. If it has an option like "Remote device will start the connection" select that option. Then select that com port from the Bluetooth tab and than start the bluetooth server. Adjust your baudrate. -You can run server totaly hidden. No system tray icon no window. In the hidden mode if you press R while pressing LEFT CTRL+ALT+ LEFT SHIFT Main Window will be showed. - You cand run command on the computer. - Username and Password checking for protection. - Reliable connection between computer and mobile phone. - Low badwith usage over network. - User friendly GUI and easy accessiable functions! - You can run TCP Server and Bluetooh server on the startup. - Turkish and English help files included!
Usage of Server and Shortcuts
MAIN WINDOW: Username: The system will check the username during the login operation. You should write correct username to the client software. Password:The system will check the password during the login operation. You should write correct password to the client software. Conenction Port: The server will listen this port for TCP communication. You should write the port on the client software if you connecting through GPRS. Start server on loading window: Check the box that if you want to start server on loading the program. Hide server window on load: Check the box that if you want to hide window on starting the program.While running in hidden mode if you press LEFT CTRL+ALT+ LEFT SHIFT and R at the same time the main window will be showed. Dont show system tray icon: Check the box that if you want to remove tray icon on the system tray. Hide: Hide the window. Exit: Terminate the program. Save: Saves the settings. Start Server : Starts the TCP (internet) server. Stopt Server : Stops theTCP (internet) server.
LOGS Clear: Clear the logs.
BLUETOOTH: Settings about Blutooth server. Baudrate: The speed of bluetooth connection as bits per second. If you select high baudrate you may encounter with connection problems. If you have connection problems select lower baudrates. Serial Ports: You can select 1 serial port in order to listen as a bluetooth server. Save: Saves the settings. Start Server : Starts the bluetooth server. Stopt Server : Stops the bluetooth server. Start bluetooth server on loading window:Check the box that if you want to start bluetooth server on loading the program. ANNOUNCING: You can request and URL periodically in order to save servers IP on a webserver periodically. Submit my IP on a web server periodically: Check the box if you want to activate periodic requesting operation... Period: Select the period that you want to request that URL. You can select from 1 mimute to 60 minutes. Server URL: The URL that will be requested periodically. Dont forget the put http:// at the begging of URL. It means write full URL.
IMPORTANT NOTE : Please save your settings bu using "Save" button after you configure the server.
Usage of Client and Shortcuts
There are too many forms on the client program that I cannot explain everything here. Sorry.. :)
Some important notes: - If you want to connect through GPRS select GPRS on connection type. You sould fill Server IP, Server Port, Username ve Passwordu part in order to connect. Server IP is the IP address of your computer.You can see your IP by entering the web site http://www.whatismyip.com/ Then click Connect/Search to connect to server.
- If you want to connect through bluetooth select bluetooth on connection type. You sould fill Username ve Passwordu part in order to connect to server.Then click Connect/Search to start search bluetooh devices and your remote pc server.
- You can select the language at the end of form as English or Turkish.
- When you click Connect/Search settings will be saved...
Chat : You can have chat between computer and mobile phone. You can send and receive messages. You can show and hide chat window on the computer. Screenshot: You can take screenshots of the computer and view that screenshots on the phone. There are 8 level of zoom options. "All","Left Top","Right Top","Left Bottom","Right Bottom","x2 All","x3 All","x4 All"
You can use fallowing keys for scrolling. - Left button (or 4 key) to scroll left. - Right button (or 6 key) to scroll right. - Up button (or 2 key) to scroll up. - Down button (or 8 key) to scroll down. - Fire button (or 5 key) to go the left up corner of the screen. Shotdown Comp: Shutdowns the computer. Restart Comp: Restarts the computer.. Run Command: Runs a command on the computer.
IMPORTANT POINTS
In order to get a good connection between phone and computer check these points... 1) Allow acess to RemotePCServer.exe from your Firewall. 2) If you are using Adsl/Cable modem you should do NAT operation. If you are using NAT on a network do the "Port Forwarding" thing. Forward the port which you have configured of server from modem to your computer (inner IP). 3) Write the correct username and password on the the client program. 4) If you want to connect through GPRS select GPRS on connection type. You sould fill Server IP, Server Port, Username ve Passwordu part in order to connect. 6) If you using bluetooth for connection read carefully here. You should add serial port (A com port Ex: COM6) for communication from your bluetooh driver software. WIDCOMM or WinXP bluetooth driver or whatever driver you use. If it has an option like "Remote device will start the connection" select that option. Then select that com port from the Bluetooth tab and than start the bluetooth server. Adjust your baudrate. 7) You can install client software by using RemotePC2.jad and RemotePC2.jar files. If you cannot insall these application over bluetooh put these files on a web server then install them over WAP/GPRS. 8) log.php is the example for recording server's on a public web server.
